This RN position is located in Nursing Services Specialty Outpatient Section, VA St. Louis Healthcare System (VASTLHCS), St. Louis, Missouri. Registered Nurse Manager, Surgical Clinics is a professional nurse who performs position responsibilities that show leadership, experience and creative perspective in managing patient care.

Registered Nurse Nm Surgical Clinic Job Responsibilities

Duties:

• The position displaying leadership, experience, and creative outlook for management of complex patient care executes responsibilities.
• It ensures that the care provided meets the Joint Commission standards for external patient care along with VA performance measures.
• Implementing quality management, performance management, and continuous preparation programs.
• Demonstrates enough performance and leadership to improve the care of patients receiving comprehensive integrated primary care.
• Document results at the program or service level The results of the program or service level should be comprehensive and complex and can be displayed at any organizational level within any facility, VISN or VACO. The program is defined as a sufficiently coordinated group of activities affecting patients and/or employees.
• (A) Care and practice of care, including access to care and discharge planning and leading care and organizing care to ensure continuity of peer liability; (B) Use advanced clinical knowledge / decision to promote employee involvement in planning, decision making and evaluation of results; (c) In areas related to clinical practice and / or specified roles and responsibilities Working as an expert, (D) systematically evaluating current practice, and in the area of specialization, patients and/or organizational forms Preparing outcomes for groups of reactions, (e) guiding, developing and supporting employees with leadership perspective, and (f) care, using professional standards of scientific evidence, and evaluating programs and/or service activities Practice for
• Supervision, organize, guides and evaluates patient care delivery.
  

The candidate is also expected to participate in National and VISN telecommunications related to hospital care and is expected to act as a contact point for implementation of VHA mandates and instructions related to PACT and external patient care.

Registered Nurse Nm Surgical Clinic Job Qualifications

Basic requirements:

• United States citizenship: Non-citizens can be appointed only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens according to the VA policy.
• Appropriate state-recognized agency graduate school approved professional nursing and recognized by one of the bodies following recognition of the completion of the program by the applicant: Nursing (ACEN) accreditation commission or Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education (CCNE ). In the case of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, the right to current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet graduate requirements from the approved school of professional nursing. Or to complete a coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in an MSN Bridge program, which qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of professional nursing. Students ought to submit the certificate of skilled nursing to sit down for the NCLEX to the VA in conjunction with a duplicate of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA reference work 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign colleges of skilled nursing, possession of a current, full, active ANd unrestricted registration can meet the necessity for graduation from an approved college of skilled nursing.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate skilled nurse in an exceedingly State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S., or the District of Columbia.
  

Preferred Experience:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
2. At least four (4) years should be the progressive medical-surgical nursing experience.

• Grading fixation: The following criteria should be met to determine the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within the grade:
  Nurse I Level III - An ADN or diploma in nursing and about 2-3 years of nursing practice / experience; Or a bachelor's degree in an ADN or diploma and related field in nursing and about 1-2 years of nursing practice / experience; Or a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice / experience; Or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or field related to BSN and no additional nursing practice / experience.
• Nurses II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice / experience; Or a bachelor's degree in ADN or diploma and related field in nursing and about 2-3 years of nursing practice / experience; Or Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice / experience; Or meets the basic requirements for a doctorate degree or appointment in nursing and has a doctoral degree in the relevant field, in which no additional nursing practice/experience is necessary.
• Nurses III - Master's degree in Nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; Or a doctorate degree
